NEW YORK, October 11, 2024--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Today Beazer Homes USA, Inc. (NYSE: BZH) will ring The Opening Bell? at the New York Stock Exchange. This year marks Beazer’s 30th Anniversary of Listing on the New York Stock Exchange. The national homebuilder has since become a leader in energy efficient construction, operating in 17 markets across the U.S. The senior leadership team will ring the bell in celebration of the milestone anniversary and National Energy Awareness Month.
On October 2, Beazer Homes was recognized by the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for leadership in adopting the rigorous construction standards of the Indoor AirPlus and Zero Energy Ready Home? programs.
"Housing Innovation Award winners represent the country’s most innovative builders leading the charge to low-to-no carbon emissions in all new home construction by 2035," says Jaime Van Mourik, who oversees the Zero Energy Ready Home program. "The ZERH program serves as a proving ground for what home performance should be. These builders are truly the boots on the ground, fighting against climate change while also delivering more efficient, resilient, and healthier homes to American homebuyers."
2024 Housing Innovation Award: Hampton Hills
Beazer Homes has been awarded a Housing Innovation Award by the U.S. Department of Energy in recognition of the Hampton Hills community in Ellicott City, Maryland. Established in 2013, the award recognizes exemplary innovation in building Zero Energy Ready Homes (ZERH). Hampton Hills is featured in the DOE’s Tour of Zero, providing an inside look at the building practices that make Beazer homes some of the most energy efficient on the market.
2024 Housing Innovation Award: Most Certified Homes
The Housing Innovation Award for Most Certified Homes recognizes Beazer as the builder certifying the most ZERHs in the year. Beazer was the first national homebuilder to commit to building 100% of homes to this standard by the end of 2025. Beazer has now certified more Zero Energy Ready homes to the DOE’s Single Family National Program requirements than any builder in the country – meaning more access to increased energy efficiency and healthier living.
"Earning this kind of recognition requires a team effort. When we made our commitment to build Zero Energy Ready homes, our team accepted the challenge to do something different and audacious," said Allan Merrill, CEO of Beazer Homes. "No company had attempted to build Zero Energy Ready homes at scale – so our team created a plan to do it in dozens of communities, across 13 states and four climate zones. Today, when we celebrate our 30th anniversary at the NYSE, we’ll be ringing the bell for each of our employees who are building the homes of the future."
